Arkham Asylum
A Serious House On Serious Earth
This is as dark and disturbing as anything can get. Certainly not for beginner Batman fans, but certainly hardcore. Some can't handle the artwork. This is nightmares on pages.
Batman goes into Arkahm Asylum where the inmates have taken over. Batman is afraid that he belongs there. While we follow Batman encountering many of his usual enemies, we have flashbacks into the past of the Asylum and the life of it's maker, Amadeus Arkham. Arkham's story is brutal and gory. If the artwork doesn't freak you out first, then the mental imagery this story implies about Amadeus will give you nightmares.
Every bat-fan and freak should own this classic as it gives insight into Batman's sanity and how the psychopaths see Batman as demon haunting their dreams.
On a side note, for those of you who read it, does Batman break his rule and kill Killer Croc? Because I can't tell for sure...
RATING:
Batman Story - 9/10

Continuity ?/10

OVERALL - 9.5
