Batman: Battle For The Cowl
Dick Grayson's rise to the cowl (again...) as he tries to overcome his fear of stepping in Bruce Wayne's shoes. It's more about Dick Grayson accepting his fate as the next in line for Batman than it is fighting Jason Todd taking over as a gun toting, skull splitting Batman.
Unfortunately it isn't that good. Too short with nothing really happening besides the obvious. There are some things that had potential, like Tim Drake wearing the 70's/80's blue Batman suit with the yellow insignia as well as Gotham's mobs going to war with the known fact that Batman is gone.
Instead, we get a minor speed hump that leads directly into the superior Batman & Robin. Grayson has been Batman before, so I feel as though this should have been a bigger event instead of a 3 issue 'what-should-be.'
Does anyone remember how Damian Wayne became settled living with Dick and Alfred at Wayne Manor? Neither do I.
We do ofcourse get 2 issues of Gotham Gazette, which adds nothing special to it overall. A missed opportunity.
RATING:
Batman Story - 5/10
Continuity - 9/10
Art - 8/10
Epicness - 5/10
OVERALL - 6.7/10
